A World in Miniature

There is a place where each person works.
Small, careful work keeps today moving.

When the task leaves a person’s hands,
life begins to move one step forward.

he time created becomes conversation with family,
smiling with colleagues,
connecting with the community.

Life gains color,
and the world grows richer.

Boundaries soften, and stories begin to overlap.
And something amazing will happen.

Helping people get things done

Behind the Scenes

Introducing the miniature production and filming process used to express the world of Honda Power Products.
Each piece is finished by hand, with careful attention to the structure of the actual machines and the tactile feel of operating them.

Uniting the world with each person’s work

Uniting the world with each person’s work

Fields, gardens, snowy roads, watersides…
Where Honda Power Products are used, there is always someone at work.
Each of these individual efforts accumulates to shape society and everyday life.

The miniature “box garden” setting is used as a device to visualize these individual points of activity and symbolically portray how they eventually connect. By viewing this small world from above, we aim to convey intuitively how Honda’s technology creates time for people and expands the possibilities of everyday life.

Creating in order to communicate

For this film, real miniatures were created and filmed instead of using CGI. The aim was to capture an authentic sense of presence, including the way light falls and the textures of the materials.

A commitment to creating by hand and an uncompromising attention to detail reflect the craftsmanship Honda has long valued.

Because the film portrays technologies that support people’s work, the world itself was also built by hand. In this way, the production process itself embodies Honda’s DNA.

Design, modeling, painting, filming, and editing—each stage is passed from one specialist to the next, carrying the Hakoniwa toward completion. Every contributor works with the next step in mind, handing off the baton with uncompromising attention to detail. Each finished scene is a crystallization of pride. Work that serves someone else—that is where its true satisfaction lies. The origins of craftsmanship that support all forms of making are contained within this small world.

Bringing realism into a stylized world

Bringing realism into a stylized world

In creating the miniatures, the focus was on balancing the warmth of handcraft with precision. Brush-painted textures and subtle irregularities in form were intentionally preserved, expressing the sense of use and the character of craftsmanship. Careful attention was also given to harmonizing the finely detailed products with stylized people and nature. Material consistency was maintained throughout, so that each Hakoniwa connects seamlessly into one unified world.
