ライドスルーとは?　タイムペナルティとは?

選手に科されるペナルティの1つに、前述の条文にも言及されている＜ライドスルー＞というものがある。これは、レース中に違反を犯した選手に対して、いったんコースからピットレーンへ入って一定速度での通行を指定することにより、事実上のタイムペナルティを科す、という方法だ。

具体的には、追い越しを規制する黄旗の指示に違反した場合などがこのペナルティに相当する。実際のレースでも何度か適用されたことがあり、テレビ放送などでこのライドスルーペナルティの場面を見たことがある人も多いだろう。

最近のケースでは、2010年、第7戦カタルニアGPのMoto2クラス決勝で、序盤にレースを引っ張っていた選手が黄旗の指示に従わなかったとして、順位を下げる警告の後に、ライドスルーを科されるという一件があった。この選手が守らなかった規制の取り決めや指示、その後の警告手続き等は、このルール運用の典型的事例だ。

黄旗の意味と違反時のペナルティについては、スポーティングレギュレーション｛1.22.2 情報や指示を示す旗｝で以下のように説明されている。

・黄旗
フラッグマーシャルポストにてこの旗が振られている場合、前方に危険が存在することを示す。選手は減速して停止に備えなければならない。追い越しは、緑旗が出される地点まで禁止となる。

プラクティスセッション中にこの規則に違反した場合、違反が発生した周回のラップタイムを取り消す。レース中にこの規則に違反した場合、選手はレースディレクションの決定した順位まで下がらなければならない。ペナルティはまずチームに対して通達され、その後にフィニッシュライン上で選手に対して最大5周回の間ボードが提示される。ボードが5回表示された後でも選手が順位を下げなかった場合、選手に対してライドスルーのペナルティが科される。

両例の場合ともに、（罰金から出場停止に至るまでの）さらなるペナルティが科される場合がある。追い越し行為の直後に、選手が自己の違反を認識した場合、挙手をして自ら追い越した選手（たち）を前に出させなければならない。この場合には、ペナルティは適用されない。

・ Yellow Flag
Shown waved at the flag marshal post, this flag indicates that there is　a danger ahead. The riders must slow down and be prepared to stop.
Overtaking is forbidden up until the point where the green flag is　shown.
Any Infringement of this rule during a practice session will result in the cancellation of the time of the lap during which the infraction occurred.
In case of infringement of this rule during the race, the rider must go back the number of positions decided by the Race Direction. The penalty will be first communicated to the team and then a board will be displayed for the rider on the finish line during a maximum of 5 laps. If the rider did not go back after the board has been presented 5 times, he will be penalized by a ride through.
In both cases, further penalties (such as fine - suspension) may also be imposed. If immediately after having overtaken, the rider realises that he did an infraction, he must raise his hand and let pass the rider(s) that he has overtaken. In this case, no penalty will be imposed.

また、ライドスルーを行う場合の具体的な方法については、同じくスポーティングレギュレーションの｛1.19 ライドスルーの手順｝で、その内容が厳密に取り決められている。

1.19 ライドスルーの手順
レース中、選手はピットレーンのライドスルーが要請される。

停止は許可されない。

その後、レースに復帰することが許可される。

ピットレーンでは、選手は速度制限（1.21.14参照　※）を遵守しなければならない。この速度制限に違反した場合、ライドスルーの手順が再度行われる。この速度制限に2回違反した場合、選手に対して黒旗が提示される。

リスタートレースの場合、上記の規定も同様に適用される。罰則が適用される前にレースが中断し、第2レースが行われている場合、選手は第2レースの開始後にライドスルーを要請される。
選手がペナルティの実施を中断後の第2レースに先延ばしにしようという意図を抱いており、その意図が判明した場合には、当該選手に対して黒旗が提示される。

チームに対して告知が行われた後、選手の番号（黒字）を表示した黄色のボード（横100cm×縦80cm）がフィニッシュラインに提示される。同様の情報はタイムキーピングモニター^※1にも表示される。

ボードを5回提示している間に当該選手がライドスルーを行わなかった場合、その選手には黒旗が提示される。

レース終了までに当地団体によるライドスルーのペナルティ実施が不可能であった場合、当該選手には20秒のタイムペナルティが科される。

（※この条文では、ピットレーン内の制限速度を60km/hに定めている。これに違反した場合、1回目は70ユーロ、同一レースイベントにおける2回目以降の違反は370ユーロの罰金が科せられる）

1.19 Ride Through Procedure
During the race, the rider will be requested to ride through the pit lane.
Stopping is not permitted.
He may then rejoin the race.
The rider must respect the speed limit (Art. 1.21.14), in the pit lane. In case of infraction of this speed limit, the ride through procedure will be repeated; in case of a second infraction of this speed limit, the black flag will be shown to the rider.
In the event of a restarted race, the above regulation will also apply.
In the case of a race interrupted prior to the penalty being complied with and if there is a second part, the rider will be required to ride through after the start of the second part of the race.
In the case of a rider carrying forward a penalty for anticipation of the start, into the second part of an interrupted race and subsequently found to have anticipated the second start, the rider will be shown the black flag(horizontal X 80 cm vertical) displaying the riders' numbers (black colour) will be shown at the finish line and the information will also be displayed on the timekeeping monitors.
Failure by the relevant rider to ride through, having been shown the board 5 times, will result in that rider being shown the black flag.
In the case where the organisation has been unable to carry out the ride through penalty before the end of the race, the relevant rider will be inflicted with a time penalty of 20 seconds.

ちなみに、上記条文で言及されている黒旗は、選手に対してレースの終了を指示する旗で、その定義は、黄旗と同じく｛1.22.2 情報や指示を示す旗｝で以下のように定められている。

・黒旗
この旗は、1人の選手に対してのみ指示を伝達する際に使用され、各フラッグマーシャルポストに静止状態で選手の番号とともに表示される。選手は当該周回を終えたらピットで停止しなければならず、再スタートはできない。

この旗は、選手のチームに告知された後にのみ表示される。

この規則に違反した場合、以下の罰則のうち1つが適用される：
罰金－チャンピオンシップポイントの取消－出場停止

・ Black Flag
This flag is used to convey instructions to one rider only and is displayed motionless at each flag marshal post together with the rider's number. The rider must stop at the pits at the end of the current lap and cannot restart.
This flag will be presented only after the rider's team has been notified.
Any infringement of this rule will be penalised with one of the following penalties: fine - withdrawal of Championship points - suspension.
