本日は、お越しいただき、誠にありがとうございます。私はこの9月にHondaを退職しました。そして、本日のこのS2000エンスージャストの特別な集いの場に参加するために、昨日、日本からはるばるやって参りました。 Hondaには36年間勤めましたが、そのうちの20年にわたり、エンスージャストのためのスポーツカーを開発してきました。 私が最初に手がけたスポーツカーは Acura NSXでした。そのパフォーマンスに心からの情熱を込めて、走りを尊ぶエンスージャストの皆さんのためにつくり上げました。 NSXが完成した後、私はS2000開発チームのリーダーとなる特権と栄誉を得ました。私にとって、このクルマは完璧なロードスターでありました。 そして今、私のキャリアの最後にこのS2000 CRプロジェクトに携わることとなりましたが、このS2000 CRを、私は、今まで私の作り上げたスポーツカーを楽しんでくれた方々への、私からの餞別の贈り物だと考えています。 今日、私から皆さまにお伝えしたいことはこれだけです。皆さまのHondaへのご支持、S2000へのご愛顧と熱意へ、改めて御礼を申し上げたく思います。皆さまがS2000 CRを気に入ってくださることを願っています。そして、このイベントが続く限り、皆さまとご挨拶を交わしたいと思います。 本当にありがとうございました。

Thank you so much for coming here today. I retired in September and made a special trip from Japan yesterday to be here with you today, as this is very special gathering of S2000 enthusiasts. For 20 of my 36 years with Honda, I developed sports cars for enthusiasts. My first sports car project was the Acura NSX which was built for driving enthusiasts with true passion for performance. After NSX was completed, I had the privilege and honor to lead the team in developing the S2000, which to me, is the perfect roadster. And now, this S2000 CR project has come at the end of my career, and I think of it as a farewell gift from me, for those who have enjoyed my sports cars all these years. I have no other special message today. I want to thank you again for your support of Honda, your loyalty and enthusiasm for the S2000. I hope you like the S2000 CR, and I look forward to saying hello throughout this event. Thank you very much!
